What We're About

It's rare that today's yarns get summed up with more than "so yeah...". Our mission is to reignite a confidence in raconteurs - no tall stories only well loved ones accepted here - this space will be dedicated to the heritage of callused hands and cold brewskis.

Alittle different from the modern drama of life we are so in love with. Traditionally beginning in a kingdom far far away, whether it's Madison Avenue advertising executives in the 60s, the warring families of Winterfell or even the methamphetamine mayhem of New Mexico. We are more than happy to be distracted by a little escapism culture. The mainstream media have recognised this, which is why Don Draper graced the cover of Rolling stone magazine in June and also why The Sydney Morning Herald website features a detailed synopsis of HBO and AMC shows.

Neither can you ignore the value of 'happily ever after’? Aside from convincing innocent minds that those of regal stature are also amphibious and that sparkly shoes actually get returned after a night out, these three words have a finishing quality that has never been bettered. We're not tying to trump this winning formula but rather to give you a sneak into the mystery of the people you might rub shoulders with at a café or share the same side of the street.

It may seem like our spectrum is broad but we are merely trying to take a step back from all the manufactured material that is regurgitated daily in various formats.  We still nurture the relevance of novels, newspapers and the spoken word, whether the effort of turning a page is required or not. Embracing this space allows us to document the interesting anecdotes you tell us and grab a chance to speak. Using this lens we want to show the latitude to life and glimpse the sparkle in everyone's stories. A mechanic from Cootamundra could feature just as easily as a booking agent from Surry Hills.
